Brethren, A couple of months ago, we had an informal meeting whereby our Secretary posed several questions about the future of Dunedin Lodge 192. I am disappointed that the responses to the questions did not generate a more positive reaction among the Craft; for example, the Craft asked for more social events, yet the horse race at Tampa Bay Downs was poorly attended, the baseball game drew very few, and the Spring picnic has been canceled for lack of interest. We have little participation in the parking job at the Highland Games, and there is minimum participation in the Trap Shoot.. We need more members to assist in the Acacia Ceremonies, and most of all we need greater attendance at the Monday Night Meetings. Several suggestions have been made, and we will follow through with them. The Lodge needs your help in any way you can provide. I appreciate all the assistance and advice that has come my way and hope for more in the future. I know that there are many other activities calling for your attention. I am just asking for a little more attention for the organization you had to work hard to be a member. W:.B.J. Sammon Worshipful Master |

Brothers - With our Highland Games fundraiser behind us, we are now gearing ourselves toward Grand Communications coming up in May (May 25-28; Orlando). It seems that we had good results from our efforts at the Highland Games, but this was due mostly to the willingness of very few brothers to work through the entire day. With many of our northern Brothers now away, the fact is we are not seeing the kind of participation in the Lodge that is necessary to keep us afloat during events such as these. I understand that a number of our Brothers have difficulty making it out in the evening, and that many are unable to participate in long events such as the Highland Games. Where we really need the help, though, is in showing support to our new and younger members. I’m sure you remember from last year that we had plenty of degree work, but out of those new Brothers only a handful really stays active in the Lodge, and this is in part because it isn’t much of an inspiration to see more people in officer’s chairs than on the sidelines at a meeting. So Brothers, if you want to come out, if you want to participate, please, give another one of your Brothers a call. We can help you get here, and we would certainly be happy to see you. On Monday, May 12th, Dunedin Lodge has some important legislation of its own to be voted on (see the Secretary's notes). The Brethren of this lodge are hereby requested to attend to review and vote on these matters. Our last Stated Communications before going dark will be held on Monday, May 26th. As this is Memorial Day, the Acacia Committee will be holding its annual Memorial Day ceremony. Following this, the Lodge will go dark until Monday, August 11th, when we will hold a Stated Communications. Do not, however, hesitate to still call your Brothers if you are still interested in less formal get-togethers. Even a dinner or two over the summer months can help keep both your and our new Brothers’ interest while we are dark, and hopefully we, as your officers, will be able to arrange a few. Have a great summer Brothers, and we hope to see you sooner than later. John Lawless Senior Warden

Brothers - On MONDAY, MAY 12TH, Dunedin Lodge has three legislative matters to vote on. Your participation at this meeting is thereby requested. The three items include: 1. RESOLUTION TO DISSOLVE THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES - this resolution was introduced as it was felt by the Lodge officers and members of the Board that the Board of Trustees no longer serves a viable purpose. Passage of this resolution requires a simple majority of the Craft present at the meeting. 2. RESOLUTION TO EXPAND THE FINANCE COMMITTEE FROM THREE TO SIX MEMBERS - in order to get the Lodge's bylaws in synch with Grand Lodge requirements, a resolution was introduced to modify section 10.02 of the Lodge's bylaws to allow up to six Lodge members to participate on the Finance Committee (as opposed to three currently). Passage of this resolution requires a minimum of three-quarters (75%) of the Craft present at the meeting. 3. VOTE TO OVERTURN A PRIOR DECISION - At our Stated Communications of February 11, 2008 the Craft voted to NOT pay the bill as submitted by District Deputy Grand Master of $256.20 for the Grand Master's official visit to District 20 held last July. In compliance with Section 25.03 of the Florida Masonic Digest, the Worshipful Master is asking the Craft to revisit this decision. To change the decision requires a simple majority of the Craft present at the meeting. Brothers, your vote is important to the Lodge. Please plan on attending this important meeting on Monday, May 12th. 2008 DUES - Brothers, your 2008 dues are now due. If you do not have a 2008 dues card, I will soon be sending you a notice regarding your delinquency. OUTDOOR MM DEGREE - We are trying to put together an outdoor Master Mason degree which we have tentatively scheduled for Monday, May 19th. If things work out, the degree will be held on private property off of East Gate Road (north of Keystone); if not, we'll hold the degree at the Lodge. Stay tuned for details. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. Keep the Faith! W:.Tim Bryce, PM, MPS, MBBFMN Secretary Tel: 727/786-4567 (O)
